To start the year off we are announcing our first few guests.
Glen Cook is a contemporary American science fiction and fantasy author, best known for his epic fantasy series about a band of mercenaries known as The Black Company. The series, currently 10 novels long, has become something of a cult classic, especially among current and former members of the military. When asked about the series’ popularity among soldiers, Cook replied: “The characters act like the guys actually behave. It doesn’t glorify war; it’s just people getting on with the job. The characters are real soldiers. They’re not soldiers as imagined by people who’ve never been in the service. That’s why service guys like it.”
Heather Dale and her partner Ben Deschamps are cheerful, adventurous, free-spirited people who spend most of each year traveling around North America and Europe, sharing their music with ‘modern dreamers’ from all walks of life!
Heather is a Canadian recording artist and touring musician with her original songs that tap into legends, mythology, history and fantasy. “Her music is powerful stuff, reminiscent of Loreena McKennitt and Sarah McLachlan but with a depth and resonance rooted in its mythic sources.” (Vancouver Sun)
Eric Flint is an American author, editor, and e-publisher. The majority of his main works are alternate history science fiction, but he also writes humorous fantasy adventures. Eric is joining us this year as a guest with the 1632 Club and their MiniCon. Yes Marcon will be host the 2014 MiniCon for the 1632 Club. Keep a close eye out for more 1632 authors.
