Jason M. Hardy is the Shadowrun line developer for Catalyst Game Labs and an award-winning game designer and writer, but honestly, he’s not always sure how he should feel about some of the awards. He is, of course, thrilled with the Game Supplement that Pairs Best with Deep Cuts from London Calling award, but he really isn’t certain how he should feel about his Rulebook Most Likely to Cause Only Minor Gastric Distress citation. Similarly, the award for Work Most Likely to Be Read as a Bedtime Story for Insomniac Iguanas seems like a fine thing, but he’d probably be fine with never having received the Sourcebook Most Likely to Protect Developer From a Vicious Ax Attack, and He’s Going to Need It, the Grotty Bastard award, as it seems like a mixed blessing at best.
In his time with Shadowrun he led the development of Shadowrun: Fifth Edition and the recent lighter ruleset Shadowrun: Anarchy, along with dozens of other books. He has published three Shadowrun novels, three MechWarrior: Dark Age novels, dozens of short stories, and a standalone urban fantasy novel called The Last Prophecies. He also wrote an advice book for aliens stranded on earth (called, appropriately, Stranded on Earth) because he thought they were a greatly under-served demographic.
He lives in Chicago with his wife, son, and daughter.
